It's a great place to visit. The gorge is wonderful. We visited out of season and bought tickets in advance. When we arrived at the central bus station in bled to get the free shuttle we discovered that it does not run out of season and had to buy a private shuttle up to the visitor centre - not expensive (€10 each) but an unexpected expense and delay. After the gorge trek there is a hike that takes about an hour to get back to the visitor centre. You need to be reasonably fit for the hike - lots of steps and steep slopes. There is a cafe at the end of the gorge and another about half way back to the visitor centre that sells local beer and cakes.

Definitely a not to miss place in Slovenia, the water and surrounding were gorgeous. In the way back we went via the “river of trees” steep but some nice views too :) There’re 2 places for drinks/toilet (at the end of the gorge and at the middle of the river of trees path)

Lohnt sich nicht. Ich fande es sehr langweilig und teuer für eine kurze Strecke. Das beste ist der längere Rückweg. Netter Wanderweg mit schöner Aussicht

Lovely walk through the actual gorge, some beautiful areas for photo op. The hike back, however, was a bit strenuous, and I don't consider myself that out of shape. The gorge took maybe an hour, but your hike back is climbing steps and uphill climbing. We're pushing 60 yrs old, but younger people than us were winded and squatted down, huffing and puffing. Be prepared.

Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Glas klarer Gebirgsbach. Gut erreichbar. Naturnah erschlossen.

Vintgar Gorge in autumn is an unforgettable natural experience, as the changing season transforms the gorge into a vivid canvas of color. Located near Bled, Slovenia, the 1.6-kilometer walk through the gorge is a mesmerizing journey with towering cliffs on both sides, moss-covered rocks, and the crystal-clear Radovna River rushing below. In autumn, the rich greens of summer shift into fiery shades of red, orange, and gold, casting an ethereal glow on the water and creating stunning reflections. The wooden walkways and bridges that wind through the gorge allow for an immersive and close-up view of the landscape, with every turn revealing new, breathtaking perspectives. Along the way, the soothing sounds of waterfalls, rapids, and bubbling streams fill the air, culminating in the spectacular Šum Waterfall, one of the largest river waterfalls in Slovenia. Autumn adds a layer of tranquility to Vintgar Gorge, as the crowds thin and the atmosphere becomes serene and introspective. The cooler temperatures and crisp air make the walk even more enjoyable, perfect for photography and quiet reflection. The combination of vibrant autumn foliage, clear waters, and dramatic cliffs makes Vintgar Gorge in autumn a magical, must-see destination for nature lovers and hikers alike.

We parked our car on P3. We paid 5euro. Keep in mind that from september on the shuttle bus isn't available and you need to walk to the entrance. It takes you 45minutes with a lot of elevation. When we arrived at the entrance, we needed to wait for a helmet. The gorge is beautiful but not spectacular. We paid 23euro for 2 adults and a dog. After you visid the gorge you need to walk back for 25minutes up the hill. The valued for money is not that great. Its a little bit overrated.
