We came here last year in December and had a wonderful time (my wife left a 5 star review) but only because it was low/off-season. We were very excited to come back after 6 months but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our first visit: We had dinner 3 days ago and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The restaurant was full but not packed. First, we arrived before another couple and even though they pointed it out to the chef and owner that we arrived before them, he still sat them first, while ignoring us and leaving us stranded in the hallway. It should not matter if you are local or known to the chef, all patrons should be treated the same, especially since everyone was so nice to us in December when we were some of the only customers during the offseason. I guess even back then it was just a facade and not a genuine experience. Anyway, 5 minutes later we did end up at our table where we ordered iced tea, which was suggested to us but as it turned out they were out of ice so we had to order something else. We had the 4-course meal, the first 3 courses were okay, nothing crazy, we had the same dishes as in December but this time it felt rushed and was not as delicious. For the main course, my wife had roast beef while I ordered the ribs. While the first 3 dishes were served very quickly, all within 40 minutes, we waited over 55 minutes for the main dish, without any heads-up while the chef was busy high-fiving local patrons. I have no issues waiting, especially if the wait is worth it but unfortunately, it was not. The meat was okay but the grilled vegetables had never been anywhere near seasoning and were completely bland. Especially the potato was one of the blandest pieces of vegetable that I had ever eaten, with no salt to be found at all. I could forgive the food not being up to par when compared to last time since everyone can have a bad day or be in a bad mood but the overall experience was just not genuine and pleasant. We felt unwanted which is a shame since we had such a great visit in 2023 but I guess everyone shows their true faces during the 'peak' season. It was our only bad dinner and generally the only bad experience in Slovenia within the last 10 years, normally everyone is always super friendly and helpful. Luckily Slovenia and also the Soca Valley has a variety of other great restaurants to choose from.

Wow! Was ein grandioses Restaurant. Es wird ein 6 Gänge Menü für 36€ angeboten. Absolut unglaublich. Sehr köstlich und einzigartig. Das Essen hat vorzüglich geschmeckt, der Service war großartig. Der Chef selbst bedient und ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit und einfach spitzenklasse. Die Nudeln und sogar das Brot werden selbst gemacht. Auch der Wein, der angeboten wird, ist grandios. Sehr gute Qualität. Es wird auf Allergien Rücksicht genommen und auch für Vegetarier extra ein Menü angeboten. Alles in allem eine Sensation und eine top Weiterempfehlung!

Toevallig op zoek naar wat te eten. Bleek er in hotel waar we sliepen een topper van een restaurant te zitten. We waren vroeg maar werden op een fijne niet opdringende manier verwelkomt. Al het eten was vers en super bereid. Prijzen voor hollandse begrippen voor een 5 sterren menu erg goedkoop. Dit is wat ons betreft echt een aanrader.

To say everything was great is an understatement. The food was delicious, service outstanding and the owner genuinely interested to hear our impressions on our experience. Slovenia never disappoints and Boka Forest Bistro was no exception. Would love to come back in summer and see their summer menu. Thank you for having us! We will be back. Also dog friendly which for us is always a plus.

Wow, wow, wow! What an amazing meal. Nothing disappointed. Had the 4-course chef's meal for €30. The food was perfection! Best spare rib I have ever had. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. Delicious local wines! I cannot say enough good things about this meal. Good to Boka - you will NOT be disappointed.

Super authentisches Restaurant! Die Zusammenstellung des Menüs war hervorragend. Die Zutaten wurden sehr gezielt und regional ausgewählt, was auch immer kurz beschrieben wurde. Und geschmacklich wirklich absolut top. Die Weinkarte besteht aus einer sehr guten Auswahl ausschließlich slowenischer Weine. Sehr authentisch! Und der Service toppt die Qualität des Essenes. Ich weiß nicht, wann ich das letzte Mal so freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient wurde! Und das alles auch noch zu sehr fairen Preisen.

Tolles Restaurant mit sehr leckerem 4-Gänge-Menü aus regionalen Zutaten. Die Hauptspeise konnten wir aus vier verschiedenen Möglichkeiten wählen. Der Service war super angenehm, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wirklich ein tolles Restaurant, das in Bovec und Umgebung seinesgleichen sucht - absolut empfehlenswert!

Sehr gutes Essen mit 4 Gängen, für nur 29€. Alle Gänge werden direkt am Tisch vom Besitzer selbst oder vom Kellner erklärt, bis ins letzte Detail. Der Name Bistro passt hier nicht, dies ist eine kleine Sterne Küche. Wir kommen wieder!

Just wow. The food was perfect from front to back. We had the 4-course menu and the price of 29€ is simply a gift. We paid 45€ p.P. including a very good bottle of wine. We have only eaten in Bovec so far, but this 10 minute drive is definitely worth it. The food was fresh, regional and delicious. The ambience is beautiful and the presentation of the plates is simple and appealing. We booked a table again directly for the next day, because there is nothing nearby that comes in terms of price and taste. Thank you for the great service and the nice evening
