The restaurant offers mediocre food for incredibly expensive price.
We were 6 people took the cheapest offer - a beef burger for 40€ plus table 6€ plus 6€ French fries and water and paid 392€ for 6 people!!
The burger is mediocre - the beef is poor w/o any spice - the French fries are poor as well.
This is a typical BAD restaurant with poor service - we had to request the service otherwise they would have let us wait at 18:30 w/o any further guests !!
Horrible experience- never ever again!

Sehr schöner Ort, sehr gepflegtes Lokal, gute Küche... Preislich aber völlig abgehoben!!! Sinnlos überteuert! Man kann halt alles übertreiben... 200 Kuna für ein kleines 6 m Boot ohne Strom (!!!) Botanik ist gleich WC! Frauen warten mit zusammengekniffenen Beinen bis es 9 Uhr ist.... Dann bitte zuerst bestellen.... Dann erst WC benützen - obwohl am Vorabend voll konsumiert ... Ach ja - Trinkgeld gibt man sich selbst ( und das nicht wenig!) Und das Gedeck könnte man für die Gebühr kaufen auch gleich.... RICHTIG!!! Man kann an dieser Unverschämtheit auch vorbeifahren...

Souhlasím s některými předchozími recenzemi. Je zvláštní, že když přijedete výletní lodí, neudělají vám v restauraci ani kafe. Proč? Nechápu. Zároveň se nesmíte koupat v moři před hotelem. Tomu také nerozumím. Jsme v národním parku, kam se kupuje vstupné a hotel si takto diktuje podmínky a zabírá místo pro své hosty? Divné a strašně nesympatické.
Edit: Omlouvám se za pochybení. Nejedná se o hotel ale restauraci. Vše ostatní je pravda. Na výletní lodi nám bylo řečeno, že nemůžeme využít toaletu v restauraci. Německá turistka nám řekla, že jí odmítli uvařit kafe. Nebylo možné se koupat před restaurací. Každý se může podívat na spoustu mých recenzí, zda jsem typický troll. Také se zde podobné recenze opakují. Jsou to všechno trollové? Těžko.

An Unforgettable Slovenian Night at Zakan – A Must-Visit Culinary Experience
Last night, I had the incredible pleasure of attending a Slovenian Night at Zakan, and I can confidently say – this was far more than just a dinner; it was an unforgettable experience.
The event was flawlessly organized, and it’s clear that the owners poured their heart, time, money, and incredible passion into making it happen. Their dedication deserves real applause.
What truly set the evening apart was the presence of Chef Jure Tomič, a renowned Slovenian chef whose talent left me genuinely speechless. His surprise appearance was a highlight for many, and for me personally, it made the night even more special.
Every dish told its own story, but a few truly stood out:
Brancin Tartar – Fresh, refined, and beautifully balanced. A delicate yet flavorful start to the meal.
Zucchini & Goat Cheese Pasta – This dish won Pasta of the Year at an international competition, and it absolutely lived up to the title. Creamy, light, and deeply memorable.
Pork Belly – I come from a country where pork on a spit is a tradition, and yet, this dish amazed me. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and masterfully presented.
To accompany the food, we were introduced to a new winery – Gašper Wines – and I must mention their rosé, which was phenomenal. This is only the second Slovenian rosé I’ve tried that left such a strong impression. A big thank you to Gašper for adding that elegant touch to the evening.
Overall, this event was not just about food – it was about culture, passion, and the magic of bringing people together through exceptional experiences. Zakan is not just a restaurant; it’s a destination that deserves a spot on anyone’s “must-do” list when in the area.
A heartfelt thank you to Vedran and his father for creating something so special and for dedicating their lives to such an inspiring project. You’ve built more than a restaurant – you’ve built a place where memories are made.

We had a strange and disappointing experience at this restaurant. Although it was nearly empty, we were not allowed inside and were told to sit on a bench outside. We could only order coffee or beer – no cocktails – because, as we were told, we weren’t “guests” and it was “house rules.”
We had arrived with a tourist boat and were part of a polite travel group. When one person who had made a purchase asked to use the restroom, they were refused – again, because they weren’t a guest.
What stood out was that visitors arriving in luxury yachts were welcomed inside and given full service. This unequal treatment felt discriminatory and unwelcoming.
A business has the right to set rules, but applying them selectively based on someone’s background or appearance is not just unprofessional – it’s unacceptable

Doświadczenie z tego miejsca raczej przykre. Po opuszczenu statku wycieczkowego chcieliśmy skorzystać z restauracji ( nie z toalety ).Niestety, nie zostaliśmy wpuszczeni - dosłownie przed nami zastawiono wejście. Żałosne.

Wir waren im Mai 2025 dort, im Zuge einer Regatta mit 17 Booten. Das Essen war überhaupt nicht gut, obwohl reserviert, gab es keine Fischgerichte sondern nur Schweine- bzw. Schaffleisch, der Rest war ok. Für ein Frühstück ( Eierspeise ) wurden uns 20€ abgenommen. Kann ich leider nicht empfehlen.

The prices are what you would expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but not at this one. We received a greeting from the kitchen, which is usually complimentary, but it was surprisingly added to our bill. We ordered fish, which was fresh and tasty, but unfortunately poorly cleaned, leaving some bitter parts. We also ordered coffee, which was disappointing in quality, and at €5.50 felt overpriced—especially since no water was served with it. Sadly, the experience did not justify the high prices.
