During my visit to Dubrovnik, I decided to try Pekara Mokošica, a local bakery. Initially, the breads and baguettes look quite appealing, with a crisp and golden exterior that promises a delicious experience. However, once I sliced into the bread, I was disappointed to find that the inside was mostly air, with very little substance or dough. The texture was light and hollow, leaving me with a sense that the bread was more air than anything else. This experience wasn’t unique to Pekara Mokošica, as I noticed a similar trend across other bakeries and supermarkets in Croatia, such as Studenac, Tommy, and various local shops. The bread, while visually appealing, often lacks the richness and density I would expect. It’s as if the bread is full of baked air, and it doesn’t offer much in terms of flavor or satisfaction. For anyone visiting Croatia and hoping to experience hearty, well-structured bread, this may not be the place to find it. While it’s certainly convenient for a quick snack, the quality of the bread here doesn’t quite meet the expectations for those who appreciate a more substantial, flavorful loaf.

It seems like that local customers visit this bakery continuesly. Breads were very delicious (not salty and oily) so we daily visited during our trip.
