Being more abundant than uranium, thorium reactors can significantly reduce long-lived radioactive waste and provide safer, cleaner energy options. Our emphasis on advanced reactor designs such as molten salt reactors (MSRs) and liquid fluoride thorium reactors (LFTRs) illustrates our commitment to next-generation nuclear technology.
As of 2025, while no full-scale thorium power plants are operational, there are several promising prototypes and pilot projects underway. With over 20 countries investing in thorium research and development, global momentum continues to build. However, challenges such as high startup costs and regulatory hurdles remain significant barriers to commercial adoption.
Thorium reactors could become pivotal for providing reliable, 24/7 power supply for various applications, including electric vehicle charging, maritime ventures, and even space exploration.
