Nice collection, took way more time to see everything, than we thought for first look. The building is also nice, especially the second floor where they preserved paintings and frescos along with with some old furniture. Also they allow to take pictures (DO NOT use flash) which was also great.

Friendly and helpful staff. Informative exhibits about the city’s history and intertwined culture with neighbouring countries particularly Italy. I think the Independence War deserves more content given its significance. The museum sits in a tastefully designed building. Worth the ticket. Audio guide available on phone at €1 extra. I’d highly recommend it.

Jako lijepi muzej,lijepo restaurirano i obnovljeno za javnost. Pazilo se do svakog malog detalja. Unutrašnjost muzeja diše prošlošću “grada koji teče” od šećerane ,tvornice čokolade, tvornice papira do rafinerije na Mlaci… i još mnogo toga lijepo izloženih exponata naše prošlosti. Definitivno svaki stanovnik grada Rijeke bi barem jednom trebao da obiđe ,ali ujedno je lijepa ponuda za sve turiste koji dođu u naš grad. Jedna velika,velika pohvala djelatnicima muzeja gospođi na ulazu i gospodinu koji radi unutar muzeja. U više navrata je pitao dali treba pomoći ili nam nešto treba. Tako da me nije samo muzej oduševio već i njegovi djelatnici. Preporuka svima dođite i pogledajte.

Hands down one of the best museums I've ever seen. The exhibitions are thoughtfully organised, insighful, interactive and available in English. A beautiful building and great exhibitions, absolutely worth at least half a day's visit.
