Als Vegetarier/Veganer hat man es in Kroatien nicht ganz leicht. Daher wurden wir essenstechnisch ziemlich oft enttäuscht. Das Ankora allerdings hat großartige veggie und auch vegane Speisen. Es war lecker, gemütlich und das Personal freundlich und unaufdringlich. Danke für den besonderen Abend.

We asked the owners of the wonderful Seventh hotel in Cavtat, where we were staying, for a dinner recommendation & this was perfect. Locally sourced ingredients, freshly cooked & every mouthful was delicious. Lovely views over the port, boats & sunset.

Although our experience here was not unpleasant, it was expensive for what it was. Firstly, the positives - the service was professional, polite and attentive enough. The ambience and decor of the restaurant was lovely, with a gorgeous outlook over the marina and tasteful furnishings. The menu looked divine and inviting, the prices (like most of Cavtat) were relatively high. I think the let down was the food and the perceived value for money. For instances, I ordered the stuffed squid and it honestly seemed incomplete and not overly cohesive. The stuffing of onion and meat was undercooked (the onions were caramelised) and it required a serious assault with the salt shaker. The entree of the cheese plate was paltry for its €13 price tag and came with no accompanying bread or cracker as you would normally expect. We enjoyed our spritzes, but found them watered down and noted that the price on the menu differed from the price on the bill. So, all in all it’s a pleasant setting, with a fabulous concept and very polished looking menu and space, however the execution and quality left significant room for improvement.

We decided to eat at Ankora spontaneously and were pleasantly surprised. The waiter gave us a quick intro to the restaurant’s concept and their aim to do things a bit differently — and it really worked. The food and house wine were excellent. It’s a great idea to order a few starters and share. I especially recommend the stuffed gnocchi with prawns — really tasty.

Love the breakfasts in this very friendly place. We spent many mornings watching the boats and the harbour of Cavtat. I had the spinach and eggs. Fresh eggs done to perfection. Highly recommend and will return.

Tolle Entdeckung in Cavat - hier stimmt einfach alles. Gutes Essen, schönes Ambiente und sympathische, professionelle Kellner. Wir waren gleich zwei Abende in Folge da. Die Tiramisu-Variation war das beste Dessert, das wir beide seit langem probiert haben. Auch alle übrigen Gerichte von hoher Qualität. Und super leckere Cocktails!!

I went because of ratings. It’s a good people watching area and across from the beautiful sea and many vessels. Probably a little pricey for drinks and food because of location. Even questioned the large draft…was expecting the usually tall mug. They do serve a free mimosa with a meal for lunch or breakfast. Service was okay and the eggplant casserole was okay but neither was anything to write home about.
