A Rich Historical Background
Originally built in the early 20th century by the affluent Stjepovic family, the villa stands on the site of an ancient Roman settlement. Guests can behold remnants of this history through various archaeological finds, including coins, ceramics, and even an ancient Christian baptistery, which underscore the fascinating heritage of the area. Many of these artifacts are on display at the nearby Lapidary of St. Jerome Monastery.

Wonderful place. Good apartments with everything needed - kitchen corner, air conditioning, small pool, parking spaces. Perfect location for reasonable price
Vila Riva is a clean, spacious building with an ideal setting right on the small harbour with a quiet pool area that has a beautiful Mountain View complete with swifts flying overhead, what’s not to love! ||We stayed the end of June into July for a week, in apartment 1, that has two bedrooms on the ground floor with easy access to the pool. It’s cool with great adjustable air con, it has a dishwasher (but if you like to wash dishes by hand bring a teatowel) and has all the basics you’d need.|The pool area is clean, lovely and cool and for most of the week we had it to ourselves (no 9am sun bed fights to be had here!)||The staff are very polite and helpful (they are usually about in the mornings), the company that runs the apartment booked our airport transfers and were very easy to communicate with and helped with the transfers when our flight was diverted for 3 hours due to wind! ||The Vila is next to a small shop, there’s another supermarket further into the village aswell as a few gift shops and a yummy bakery. Slano has a few good restaurants, including a pizzeria in the grounds of the Admiral Hotel, there’s also two restaurants around the bay to the right in the next village (about a scenic 15 min walk). ||We’d also recommend the narrow shingle beach past the marina to the left of the bay, beautiful clean waters for snorkelling and swimming….. tip- bring watershoes as it’s stoney underfoot and there’s sea urchins further round on the rocks.||The no12 bus goes every few hours into Dubrovnik, we used it twice (hop off two stops before the end for the Old Town) and we enjoyed the local boat trip around the islands that can be booked from outside Vila Riva on the harbour side. ||We’d really recommend these apartments as they are clean, quiet and a great base to explore this gorgeous area.

Pros: Lovely place to stay during our holiday to Croatia. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful and fairly quiet (minus people occasionally getting on/off cruise ships), with nice sized rooms, good air con, lovely views, a nice swimming pool, a friendly residential cat, and general nice customer service, this is your place. We would stay here again. The general area of Slano is stunning and there's a couple nice restaurants to go too and nice little (light pebble) beaches which are comfy enough with a towel. Outside of this, some historical sites like a church, and boat cruises to nearby islands you'll want to get a bus to Dubrovnik or similar to visit The Old Town. Speak to the travel guide helper a couple buildings down for advice, it was tricky for us. Cons: Beds could be comfier and the shower's temperate is fairly erratic. Travelling to Dubrovnik by bus was fairly complicated for us. Getting there isn't too bad once you know the bus and times, but getting back, make sure you go to the main bus station and wait. The rest is more tricky.

Leiligheten hadde en flott beliggenhet med utsikt over havnen i Slano. Den var greit utstyrt, hadde en stor og god seng og fellesterasser i andre etasje. Det var ikke inkludert romservice/renhold men leiligheten hadde vaskemaskin og oppvaskmaskin.
Lovely accommodation, our apartment was fantastic, everything we needed and more. Perfect location, very peaceful and easy access by bus to Dubrovnik for a day trip. Reception staff were great, very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend staying here.
These apartments were amazing.|So clean, so well equipped and the perfect location.|We had room 8, the best room in the house as far as I was concerned. It was on the 1st floor, where there were four rooms. Two of the rooms did not have a balcony (6&7), there was a shared balcony either end. We were lucky as one of the ned rooms we had direct access to the balcony from our room. No one else used it during our stay.|The location could not be better. Picture perfect over looking the bay.|The rooms were so well equipped, dishwasher, washing machine, hob, cooker, iron, ironing board, airer absolutely amazing. We weren't successful at getting the television working, but a minor point we could have asked.|Front door entry is by key pad. We were dropped late at night and weren't sure how to get in. Someone opened the door for us and there was a number to call, but advanced notification of the keypad number would have been better. We had booked through EasyJet and they hadn't given us the number for the door, which would have been very useful.|Slano itself was beautiful with just 4 or 5 restaurants and one bar, two supermarkets and a pharmacy. |We did the island hoping boat trip and would have gone on the Dubrovnik trip but it didn't run on a convenient day for us.|The marina is a must for an evening drink and watch the sunset.

Well presented, handsome villa which has been sensitively developed. Low-key but efficient service. Small but nice pool with sunbathing area. 1st floor balcony areas comfortable for al fresco, reading etc, with views out to the bay. Comfortable bed, slightly disappointing but functional kitchenette (in studio apartment); nice shower. Easy, level access to all parts of the bay. 40 mins by bus from Dubrovnik. Would we stay again? Yes when we want a quiet break.

Great spot in Slano. Nice swimming pool. Nice and helpful housekeepers. Better take room on ground floor if you have small child and pushchair. It can get a bit busy on the street and noisy during the day.

Vila Riva Apartments, a beautiful place to stay again. The room was excellent (spacious, comfortable and with everything you need for a self catering stay - room 8 leads straight out onto a large balcony overlooking the harbour and bay). The staff are very friendly and helpful. They kindly let us keep our room for an extra hour, and then offered us another room so we had somewhere to wait until our airport transfer. Everything here is exceptionally clean and tidy, and the gardens and pool area are beautiful. Slano itself is beautiful, but very quiet. If you want complete peace and quiet, this is a very good place. Only two restaurants, so you have a limited choice in that respect. We preferred Kolarin restaurant over Maestral, for a better choice, amount of food and friendlier staff. Buses to Dubrovnik, Split and into Bosnia and Montenegro are easily booked through Flixbus. Another choice would be the Libertas bus service. Thank you Vila Riva for a wonderful stay.
Great property, next to sea and center of small village. Very comfortable and well equipped apartment, nice staff, very well organised, easy check in/out. Privat parking on property, lovely swiming pool. All in all very nice place, worth to try this tranquil spot.
