We biked from Bol for an unforgettable full-day adventure to Zmajeva špilja (Dragon’s Cave), and I can’t recommend it enough. We parked our bikes near Konoba Marija in Murvica, then began the one-hour steep hike up—tough but totally doable with good shoes, water, and some determination. What made it really special was Zoran, our guide. He broke the climb into short sections, sharing fascinating local myths, history, and expert theories along the way. The cave is small but rich in carvings and atmosphere, and the views over Brač are absolutely epic. Zoran has the only key to the cave, so you’ll need to go with him—and his storytelling is what truly brings the place to life. (We took the tour in German.) We wrapped it all up with a swim in the sea and a delicious lunch at Hakuna Matata, then rode back to Bol. Not suitable for small kids, but sporty teens would manage it

Prošli smo dobar broj spilja po Hrvatskoj…Zmajeva spilja bi bila još jedna na “to do listi”, dođoh, vidjeh i to je to. Nešto što bi netko riješio u sat vremena, naš divan vodič Zoran je to pretvorio u izlet od 4 i pol sata, koja su doslovno preletjela, kad su čak i djeca (8 i 11) ostala u fokusu cijelo vrijeme. Predivno popodnevno travanjsko sunce, lagana šetnja s pogledom na nevjerojatnu prirodu upotpunjeno sa pričama gospodina Zorana uz veliki naglasak na slavensku mitologiju. Nezaboravno iskustvo i defintivno preporuka za posjetiti. Izlet/hodanje je nešto zahtjevnije, ali dobra obuća, dovoljno vode i nešto za prigrist i neće biti nikakvih problema. Tempo nije jak, u skladu s grupom, a opet dovoljno vremena za vidjeti i uživati. Penju se i malo veća djeca i peseki. Svakako preporuka je nazvati broj i najaviti se vodiču jer je spilja zaključana.

If there was not our guide, Zoran, this would be just another visit to the cave. Highly recommend organising it upfront and ask for a guided tour. Enjoy!

This is a very strenuous hike, up hill, for about a mile on a rocky trail. Beautiful views of the sea as you climb. The cave has a locked gate, so you need to call ahead and arrange a tour to enter. It’s really worth the climb!
