What an interesting place. Proceed with caution. Yes the pictures are great, but believe the reviews about the service. Such awful customer service. I chose to spend my birthday here, and was that a mistake. The first day I was here I had breakfast. It’s from 7-10 am. I went at 7 so everything was fresh. The eggs were cold and the potatoes were overly salted. I let the server know about the eggs and he looked me dead in the eyes and said “I don’t care about your feelings” and walked away. My shower was broken and cracked. The pool and balconies were very noisy. The people next to me blasted their music and were up drinking on their balcony until 1am. The third day, my door wouldn’t lock. I called the front desk, waited 20 minutes, called again, and then went downstairs. The latch where the door locks was broken off and the door panel wasn’t lit up as “door on, guest here” like the other rooms were. I asked housekeeping since they were a room over from mine how to get my door locked. They said “That door doesn’t lock but there’s a camera on it. So that’ll be fine.” I went downstairs and spoke to two different receptionists; they informed me to leave my bags and come back in a few hours. I said “I prepaid over $2,000 for a hotel room. I’ve been here for 3 nights. I’m going out for the day and need to put my belongings in a locked room.” The receptionist told me she’d hold my things, but I told her I’d wait; the other receptionist said I could sit and wait until they had another room. On the website they state they have foam pillows upon request. I asked them 3 times for a pillow, because the one in my room was very stiff and I had neck aches for 4 days. I never received a foam pillow even though it’s stated on the website, they’re available upon request. Also watch out for the spa discount and happy hour discounts. They won’t give them to you unless you ask. They also charged my card for more food than I ordered. Be careful. I was also charged for 7 days, and I stayed for 6 days. They refuse to refund me the $290 for the 7th day. This place is insane. If you want good views, come here. If you want great service, stay away.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Our room was very spacious with a large balcony with incredible sea views. The beach is shingly but really nice. My only criticism is that the hotel allow selfish guests to reserve sunbeds by just flinging a towel over them very early in the morning. They should seriously sort this and ensure that people can only reserve when they are ready to sunbathe. The restaurants were both good with a good selection of meals. Service at both restaurants was excellent.

I wasn’t a guest at Lafodia, but the restroom on the bottom floor was open and accessible, which I really appreciated. No one stopped us or said anything -- it was relaxed, and that kind of unspoken hospitality goes a long way. The bathroom was spotless and well-stocked, which left a great impression. The hotel had a fancy spinning door! They also had a room showcasing the history of the hotel and the island, including what they’ve accomplished and what’s still to come. It was cool to learn that over 150 people were working on the project at one point, with involvement from 50 different companies. A nice unexpected touch. The only small drawbacks were that the bin in the main toilet was missing its handle (still usable, just looked a bit broken), and the toilet paper, while soft, kept tearing when I tried to grab some.

Un bellissimo hotel in un contesto naturale magnifico. L’isola è veramente bella, ottima per rilassarsi. Consiglio a tutti questo hotel.

Чудовий великий готель для комфортного відпочинку. Є все, що треба, чисто та охайно. Персонал дуже ввічливий та всі розмовляють англійською. Ввечері була жива музика в ресторані з класними піснями. Їжа теж смачна. Сніданок великий, ресторан з видом на море. А ще зручно, що можна замовити лодку до Дубровника і не підлаштовуватись під загальний транспорт. Єдине, що на пляжі треба лежаки займати раніше, бо людей багато. Загалом все сподобалось!

This was a great place to stay on Lopud Island in Croatia. The beach was amazing, with comfortable cushions on the beach loungers. Summer time lots of places to eat along the boardwalk.

The views at this hotel are amazing and the private beach is great feature. This really is because the island is so great and there is no bad place to stay. However, I wouldn’t consider this hotel a 4 star luxury hotel and it’s hard to say it’s worth the price. The service is hit or miss depending on who the person is. Some of the staff is friendly and helpful while others are rude and seem to not care or want to help. In particular the spa staff who gave us massages were excellent, Lucie at reception was nice, and Vesna at the pool was very friendly! Many, many things are out of service. The AC in our room didn’t work properly during the day. The shower sometimes didn’t have hot water or water pressure. The WiFi was in and out. The elevator for our tower was broken most of the week. The spas facilities were mostly broken. We also asked at reception to exchange our beach towels because one had been stained and were told that wasn’t possible so we had to use dirty towels the entire week we stayed, which seems like a weird policy. In general, it felt like the hotel was renovated with fancy features and hasn’t tried to keep up with any maintenance or effort.

We stayed at this hotel in July 2025. The resort’s location, natural surroundings, and facilities are truly beautiful, which led us to expect a high standard of service. However, we were surprised to encounter a significant lack of organization at the beach area. There were no available sun umbrellas, and we were informed that this has been an ongoing issue for several weeks. We reported it to the hotel staff, but unfortunately, no solution was offered. We had to remain under the sun without proper shade, and eventually, we were forced to move from our spot and relocate to another area just to avoid the direct sun. This negatively impacted our comfort and overall experience.

Location is great and the views are beautiful. Service and food are not so great. AC is controlled by the front desk and we had to ask three times for it to be turned down from 27. We also asked three times for our phone to be fixed so we didn’t have to come down to reception for everything, but it never was. The same thing happened when we asked for face was cloths. We were told we would get new towels every two days but never got new towels. Instead, they would take our dirty towels off the ground and hang them back up for use. We were told to email for dinner reservations but had to follow up on the email 12 hours later to then get a response. You can only get food at one place during the day ( Baja food is sub-par at best) and there was hardly ever someone at the beach bar to get drinks when they should’ve been

Fantastisk hotell med usedvanlig godt renhold. Super strand til hotellet hvor solsengene var inkludert i hotellprisen. Dusjen var litt slitt uten mulighet for oppbevaring av såper etc. Unødvendig med bidé på badet. Lite oppbevaringsplass til toalettsaker ved vasken.

The 4 days of staying were in RMH Lopud Lafodia above our expectation.||From our previous experience, if the people looking for very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere, there is right place.

The views are amazing- the highlight of this resort. The beach is beautiful. However, the service and food are not good. It took three asks to get our AC turned down by the front desk. We asked three times for our phone to be fixed and over our four day stay it never was, so every time we needed something we had to go down to the front desk. We also asked for washcloths and never received them and gave up. We were told that we would get new towels every two days but never got new ones. Instead, housekeeping took our dirty towels off the ground and hung them back up.|There’s no beach food/drinks service and you can only get food at the Baja next to the beach where the food is not good at all. Only pizza can be taken to-go but the machine was broken so there was nothing. The servers were not very hospitable and even made me pay for a burger that was very gross and uneaten. They insisted it was beef but the smell, taste, and look was off. Half the time there was no one at the beach bar to get drinks.

The hotel itself was very nice, although the air conditioning was on the fritz, but the waterhill spa was excellent, in particular my masseuse Vesna was wonderful. Highly repcmmmend

We first discovered the island of Lopud three years ago during a short excursion — and it immediately stole our hearts. We knew we had to come back, and this time we chose to stay at Hotel Lafodia. What a fantastic decision! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautifully located, the rooms are spotless and well-designed, and the food is excellent. But what truly made our stay special was the staff: warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making every guest feel welcome and cared for. A huge thank-you to the entire team at Hotel Lafodia for making our return to Lopud so memorable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

The room and the view are incredible. The Staff is friendly and accommodating. The beach is great and the water is refreshing. However, the phone in the room did not work, and despite multiple promises, it was never fixed during the whole week of our stay. In addition, the cleaning service team forgot to refill the tissue paper on multiple occasions and did not replace all the towels. The La Baja restaurant is understaffed and thus service takes way too long.

While the island is cute, it's a 45 min. Ferry from Dubrinick (port). The hotel is located on the opposite end if the dock. Wheeling a carry on over uneven pavement in the summer heat is challenging but the water view helps. Superficially the hotel looks like a cruise ship set into a hillside. The outside restaurant and private beach has a luxury resort vibe. What is odd is entering the lobby you see purple or magenta pillars or phalluses. They need a remodel. There's a small slow elevator for each tower for guests. I was more impressed by my corner suite. Beautiful views of the island and waters. Multiple guests had complaints about how to use their room key. Fortunately we helped each other out because one thing about the staff...not the friendliest...from front desk to bakery. There were a handful of staff that were nice, especially housekeeping staff. The breakfast buffet was good and staff were attentive and friendly. I did get a good massage and used the warm jacuzzi pool, but again poor spa receptionist service. Was only friendly when I signed up for a service. In defense of the hotel staff hospitality, they are not the friendliest customer service on the island as a whole.

We stayed for five days with our two kids and left with mixed impressions. Upon arrival, there was no shuttle service from the ferry to the hotel—despite the 35°C heat, we had to walk with all our luggage and children, which was not ideal for a hotel of this category. The reception staff seemed unprepared—most of our inquiries were met with vague or unhelpful responses. Our first room smelled of moisture, the air conditioning was leaking, and the TV didn’t work. While we were moved to another room (which was better), one of the TVs still didn’t function, and even after repeated reminders at the front desk, no one addressed the issue during our entire stay. Housekeeping also seemed inconsistent—we didn’t have a cleaning service for the first three days. Breakfast was basic and underwhelming, though we must commend the wonderful older waiter from Bjelovar who stood out with his professionalism and warm demeanor. Despite the hotel’s shortcomings, the location is stunning. The island is a true paradise, and the beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful and serene. All in all, while the setting is idyllic, the hotel itself falls short of expectations for a 4-star experience. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, but the island and its natural beauty are absolutely worth the visit.
