We are here now - as a family we have two rooms , my partner room ok- mine small- lack of storage , I have ocd and I have clothes all over place , due to lack of draws - I can just walk around the end of bed - as room very compact- beds are comfortable and bedding good quality- showers good pressure - nice touch robes - Food in restaurant not great - one of children ate bread for tea - not good for fussy eaters - no chips - potatoes covered in oils - lots of salad - Restaurant big - But food area small ( like a school canteen) people pushing around x2 small food areas - food replacement- slow and guesses waiting on sides - If you have fussy eaters- DONT COME HERE- nothing for children diet -

It is a 3 star hotel and not a great 3 star hotel at that When you are a guest at the hotel prepare for the Ryanair experience, everything costs more money, water at the dinner buffet - pay for a bottle as you can’t get tap water, fancy a pool game - sure thing, you just need to put some coins in the table, what about late check-out, just pay €15 per room per hour and you are sorted. If you have a late flight and you want to sit at the pool after check out, they don’t let you do it - they will keep your luggage but send you to the public beach with no use of the hotel facilities. I must admit for me, this is very petty. The rooms are clean but tiny, once you open a suitcase there’s barely any room left to move in the room. FYI - Don’t expect any USB ports. One day at 7pm they cleaned the room above ours, I could hear loudly every swipe of the mope or the move of the furnitures. In the shower there’s a dispenser for soap/shampoo etc. which isn’t a great quality one, best to buy/bring your own. The shower is just okay, good stream of water, cheap shower head and the doors do leak water over the rest of the shower room. Our safe didn’t work and despite a few attempts to fix it, it didn’t work for the duration of our stay. If it wasn’t for the location and the outdoor facilities this hotel wouldn’t even be a 3 star hotel in my mind, if you don’t plan on staying long in your room and you’ll be at either the outdoor / indoor pools or the beach than it becomes a better place to stay at. The breakfast buffet is decent and has quite a lot of choices. The hotel is also close to many restaurants, I would highly advise to avoid the dinner buffet and explore the restaurants - we found them to be not only better but also cheaper (in most cases) BTW, it’s just worthwhile mentioning that whilst there’s water at the breakfast buffet, they do not allow to fill water bottles and they close the machine completely for dinner so you have to buy a water bottle. Here is a tip, outside the hotel, walking past the pool, in front of the small store there’s a public tap which can be used to fill the bottles - great cool water. All in all, I think the area is amazing but the hotel costs isn’t justified, there’s no reasonable value for money ratio - I don’t know if it’s because the Game of Thrones attention to the area has increased the number of visitors and they’re allowing themselves to be unreasonable in the quality of the hotel whilst charging for every little thing. To be honest, if I knew what I know now about the hotel when I booked the hotel - I would have booked a different hotel

I visited Mlini in May for work and could not wait to come back with my children this summer. I knew the area so booked the hotel which offered the best value for money. I read a few reviews online and was a bit worried about some issues that people had raised but I was completely blown away by the hotel, which meant that the reviews must have been read and addressed by the management - which is a big tick!! Our room was spacious and clean, the towel service worked well and the pool staff were constantly addressing the towels left out which was reassuring. We never had a problem finding a sun bed on the warmer days. The reception team were warm and friendly, and so were the bar and restaurant staff. The cleaner was also incredibly friendly and smiley - even my children commented on how lovely the cleaner was! The indoor pool was a bit hit, and the sauna and gym space were also impeccable. Everything in the wellness centre felt calm and relaxed, but well organised. We organised our own time and day trips but I know speaking to other guests that the hotel would have done this on my behalf if I wanted it. Honestly, cannot fault Hotel Astarea, we had a lovely 5 nights there and would definitely be back. The only thing that could be an idea, would be to have a pool side service for drinks and snacks. Maybe something that could be ordered on an app to your sun bed for a super luxury feel!! But this would also mean that parents can keep an eye on their children in the pool whilst also ordering themselves and their children some snacks and drinks. Many thanks for an enjoyable holiday!

Einfach ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt! Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend, ideal für Erholungsuchende und Familien. Für Kinder wird hier auch was geboten, was den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm macht. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, professionell und aufmerksam. Selbst als wir mitten in der Nacht ankamen, wartete noch ein frisch zubereitetes Abendessen auf uns – das hat uns wirklich beeindruckt! Vielen dank dafür!! Auch die Einrichtung lässt kaum Wünsche offen. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und geschmackvoll gestaltet. Einzig ein paar zusätzliche Ablagemöglichkeiten oder Regale im Zimmer wären praktisch, aber das ist wirklich Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Das Essen ist abwechslungsreich und von sehr guter Qualität,hier findet wirklich jeder etwas nach seinem Geschmack. Was wir absolut nicht verstehen können: Dieses Hotel hat „nur“ drei Sterne? Aus unserer Sicht hat es definitiv mehr verdient! Eine ganz klare Empfehlung – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

We really liked the hotel. Initially we found our room very small (311) and we requested a move. However as we had unpacked we decided to stick with it. Storage space for clothes was limited (no drawers!). Even space for two suitcases was limited. We booked a premium room but felt our room was standard. That said the bed was extremely comfortable and huge! So it all balanced out. We would have liked a canopy on our balcony which was the PERFECT aspect, just very hot at this time of the year. We mostly enjoyed the food (I’m not a meat eater and I was pleased to see a good selection of fish each evening). I would suggest water and tea are complimentary in the evening. The breakfasts were good; I mostly had fruit, nuts and muesli so did not avail of the bacon and sausages! Overall I would rate the food 4/5, but honestly there was a lot I didn’t eat but that is by choice as I like a healthy breakfast!!

I enjoyed my time at Hotel Astarea! Very clean and close to everything just a 10 minute drive into Dubrovnik and you can also take a boat taxi. Overall good location on the beach and buffet was good!

We stayed 10 days at hotel astarea. It is a beautiful and super busy hotel. Nice pebble beach beside the hotel also. Staff are friendly and facilties are kept clean and well maintained. Breakfast was ok, im quite fussy but enjoyed a few options like the porridge , pancakes and pastries.|The pool sunbed issue that others mentioned seemed to be resolved while we were there , towels removed from beds if left for more than 30 mins. This mostly stopped people from reserving beds and going off for hours. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at hotel astare. Mlini is gorgeous and easy access to dubrovnik and cavtat by boat or taxi! Plenty of restaurants everywhere u go!

Calma, relax, maravilloso. Hemos estado alojadas desde el 15 al 22 de julio. Estuvimos en el edificio anexo con vistas al mar, la limpieza muy bien, el baño algo pequeño pero lo demás cómodo. La comida súper bien, fruta, verduras, los panes, dulces... Las fotos son la realidad del lugar, la playa a dos pasos espectacular con terrazas cerca para comer o pequeño súper para comprar lo necesario: crema, agua, cholas... El personal de recepción algunos muy secos, Antonia encantadora con la sonrisa que te atiende y saluda, igualmente el personal del buffet muy agradable siempre. La piscina cubierta, gimnasio, sauna seca y de vapor excelentes, con el detalle de frutas, agua y bolsitas para hacer té. Se puede visitar el casco antiguo en barco o en coche, a pocos minutos. Volvería sin dudarlo, iba con cierto respeto por algunas reseñas pero desde que entramos a la habitación nos gustó y ha sido un relax total.

Hvala Vam na predivnom boravku u Vašem hotelu. I djeca i ja smo stvarno oduševljeni svime. Često putujemo izvan Hrvatske, ali još nigdje nismo bili tako oduševljeni objektom u kojem boravimo. Pohvalili bi sve redom - izgled hotela, udobnost soba, ljubaznost osoblja, ponudu hrane, ponudu raznovrsnih sadržaja... Hvala i nadam se da ćemo imati priliku ponoviti naš odmor kod Vas 🥰

Major issue with sun beds!|Loved Mlini and couldn’t fault any thing in the Astarea hotel, excellent for a 3 star, apart from the issues we encountered with the sun beds. People reserving sun beds and parasols early and then disappearing for hours. What about families with young children? It is essential to have the shade of a parasol with children and not everyone wants or can afford 28 euros a day for 2 sun beds and a parasol on the beach. Looking at the other reviews this is clearly a problem that needs to be resolved.

Location: Beautiful Quiet Spot|You can get a boat into Cavtat and Dubrovnik approx 30mins 15e return. Mlini is a quiet location with picturesque buildings situated on the sea front. A couple of restaurants and bars in the immediate area with more along the coastal path to Srebreno.|Hotel Facilities: Indoor & Outdoor Pools, Spa, children's play area, teenagers games room, pool and table tennis. Hotel Bar and beach front restaurant with bar for lunch and dinner. Air Con throughout hotel and rooms.|Rooms: Recently upgraded, compact and practical. Shower with shower gel and towels provided. Hairdryer, Robes and slippers for the spa. Kettle for tea and coffee. Balcony. Fridge, TV. Comfortable Beds. Air Con.|Rooms serviced every day.|Views of the sea from most rooms.|Beds are very comfortable.|Common Areas: Clean and Tidy. Breakfast: Busy most days. Prepare yourself for the usual hustle and bustle. Eggs, rashers, cold meats, bread, some fruit, juices and teas. Staff manage this busy environment quite well. Pool Area: Opens at 8am with some people queuing for Beds. Not enough beds to facilitate demand from the hotel, sister hotel and onsite apartments. Most beds gone by 9am. Pool towels provided at a deposit of 20 e per towel. Towels are collected each day by the pool and return led each day with a towel card. Beach: Lovely beach with calm clear water. Beds on the beach are 10e each and a parasols 8e. Best to buy a room up beach mat and forget about the pool area and hit the beach. The beach has lovely views and the water is nice for a swim. Food: Food is very good at the beach side bar and restaurant. Service is prompt prices are OK. Restaurants nearby: There are a couple nice restaurants near by some affiliated to the Hotel. Walk along the coastal path to find restaurants and more restaurants and bars in Srebreno.|ATM: There is one located outside the hotel by the Beach Side Restaurant. And one further down by the harbour.|Local Bars: 2 Local bars by the harbour nice to watch the evening boats and sun going down.|Shop and supermarket:|There is a small shop outside the hotel with basic items. If you need to do a bigger shop you got to walk into Srebreno to the large shopping Mall about 30mins walk.|Tips: No need for a hoodie in the evenings as it is very warm. Take a day trip to Cavtat and Dubrovnik for the Tour of the Wall. A must do.|Dont bother with the 8am rush for beds. Go to the beach before 12pm for a bed or ly on your towel.|Recommendations: The hotel will need to address the pool area and their current policy. The pool area should be buzzer admittance by hotel card. At the minute any member of the public can stroll in and use the facilities via three entrances. The pool should be strictly residents only. Complimentary water should be provided in the fridge for new residents arriving to hotel or consider the installation of a vending machine with water and refreshments for residents arriving late in the night. More selection of fruit for breakfast. Addition coffee machine station in thr breakfast area to avoid current queues. Rooms should provide a paper sheet with some basic hotel information for residents and maybe a personalised welcome note to residents. Thr garden areas that are visible to residents could be further enhanced with native plants to improve the appearance and provide a softer view for residents. As bare grass and scrub land is not that attractive. This could be improved upon to further enhanse the gardens. Finally: The hotel is a very nice 3 star hotel and could easily make a 4 star with a few extra touches. The hotel is spotless throughout. Airy and common areas are kept clean with out any clutter. Cleaning staff are visible and staff are pleasant. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and is nestled in a beautiful area by the sea.|I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family but you would need to take into consideration all point noted above to see if it is hotel for you. Croatia and Mlini is beautiful.|
