The position seemed nice, but that’s all I can say about this place. I made a reservation on their website one day in advance. When I arrived the next day, while I was struggling to park in a rather difficult spot, a staff member, instead of offering help, insisted on knowing the name under which the reservation was made. After I told her my name, she said there was no reservation under it. I showed her the confirmation email, and she called her superiors. They claimed I should have replied to the confirmation email in order to confirm the booking — something they failed to mention anywhere on their website while making the reservation. When I asked why they didn’t try to call me if they saw there was no reply (since I don’t check my email constantly while on vacation), they told me they had never heard of a restaurant calling customers about their reservations. I’m not sure how things work at this place, but where I come from, a civilized restaurant will do its best to contact you by email, text, or phone if there’s an issue with your booking. So, after driving on a difficult mountain road with my family, hoping for a nice dinner in a nice setting, we were sent away because my reservation was cancelled without any notice. I can’t imagine what kind of service they offer if they fail to follow even the most basic rules of communication. Perhaps the fact that they have a “cash only” policy should have raised a red flag from the beginning. One star is honestly too generous given how we were treated.

Absolute best dinner! The food was so fresh and delicious. I never thought lettuce could taste so good! The meat and cheese board was unlike anything we have at home (Canada). The entrees were served family style. There was SO much food. The wine was crisp and fresh. The hospitality of the family owners was like nothing we have experienced so far. I am sad to be leaving and not able to visit again this trip!
