What is Chip Tuning?

Every modern vehicle uses an Engine Control Unit (ECU) to manage and protect the engine's performance. Within the ECU, data is typically stored on a chip known as EPROM, which contains firmware that sets the operational parameters of the engine. These parameters, controlled through various input sensors, are organized in maps that dictate functions like fuel injection, RPM limits, turbo pressure control, and ignition timing. By adjusting these values through a process known as mapping, we can significantly enhance the vehicle's performance while maintaining its reliability and durability.

How We Work

For most vehicles, we read the data via the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port and save it on our computer. Using specialized software tailored to each vehicle type and engine model, we then adjust and optimize the maps based on the owner's requests. Once the modifications are complete, the optimized data is re-uploaded to the ECU. For certain older models, particularly those over ten years old, a different approach may be needed; this involves removing the ECU from the vehicle to program it externally using specialized tools.
