They are such scammers over there. First they harassed my elderly parents to pay for the insurance coverage even though they kept saying their had coverage through their credit card. Then when they returned the car, they tried to say some BS scratches were caused by them and charged them $700. They didn’t tell my parents, they just sent it the final rental invoice with the extra charges. Total BS! If you have elderly parents avoid them at all costs or be warned.

Keep away from this company - especially in this airport. They charged 260 Eur extra for an insurance that was not needed. They won't even show you any details of what is included in that insurance. The guy in their office is arrogant and doesn't understand English that well. Very hard to make him understand simple things. After 8 days they still have the reservation left on my credit card. Crooked and hints of a seriously corrupt business.

Avoid at all costs! They try to trick you into a shady insurance coverage and I felt they are that type of company that would exploit every chance to hurt you, for instance if your flight was delayed. We had booked a VW Taigo, but they gave us an Opel Crossland. Anyway, the Opel did fine, but I didn't appreciate that the parktronic function was permanently shut off as if they want to increase the chance of you hitting the car. If you do book with them, I strongly suggest you take pictures of every scratch or whatever damage you see on the car before riding it, otherwise they could blame you for something you didn't cause.

Car was fine, customer service at the counter was fine. Charged an extra fee of $200 following after hours drop off. Tried to contact them many times to question the additional fee but never received communication back. Maybe legit, maybe a bit of a scam. I trusted Avis due to their international network, but came to find out that the foreign franchises are their own entities and Avis corporate doesn’t really care how they operate. So could be worse, but could be better.

Comme tous les autres client d'Avis nous nous sommes fait arnaquer sur le prétexte des cartes de crédit. L'arnaque est très bien rodée, et tout est ecrit en tout petit dans les conditions générales. Une honte, plus jamais AVIS!

SCAM ALERT! I called before the booking to confirm that my plane arrives after 11pm and whether someone will be there. I got a confirmation that yes. In reality it seems it's a regular scheme they use to take your money. Once we landed office was closed and the phone number was not answering. All other rentals were open. I was a loyal Avis customer - not any more. We got simply scammed in a smart way. We will be rwporting our case to customer protection agencies and besides that - we will go to court.

Des voleurs déguisés en loueurs ! Location effectuée du 01/07/2025 à Dubrovnik au 07/07/2025 à Zadar. Comme beaucoup d’autres clients, nous avons été prélevés de 277€ pour une assurance que nous avions expressément refusée lors de la réservation en ligne. C’est une arnaque bien rodée : au moment du check-in, ils vous font signer un document où le montant total est volontairement flou. Aucun mot sur une assurance supplémentaire. Et pourtant, vous vous retrouvez à la fin avec une facture salée, et un prélèvement non autorisé. Leur prix est attractif sur le papier, mais ils se rattrapent avec des frais cachés, une pratique malhonnête et délibérée. Ce n’est pas une erreur, c’est du vol organisé, et tout est fait pour que vous ne puissiez pas vous défendre. Une honte absolue.

Comme tous les autres commentaires nous avons réservé via Ryanair le véhicule pour 7 jours pour un total de 130€ comprenant location et assurance. Et une fois le véhicule rendu, une assurance « coverage + » nous a été ajouté sans notre accord avec un montant de 277€ à payer. Idem que les autres UNIQUEMENT les cartes de Crédit sont acceptées et au MÊME nom que le conducteur principal sinon vous ne pourrez pas récupérer votre voiture, aucune facture aucun contrat rien ne nous a été transmis. À fuir.

Leider kann ich die negativen Rezensionen nur bestätigen, denn heute bin ich in dieselbe Touristenfalle getappt. Nach einer reibungslosen Buchung des Mietwagens inklusive Versicherung über Booking.com, wurde mir bei der Abholung gesagt, dass die Kreditkarte, die ich zur Bezahlung online genutzt habe, für die Kaution nicht gültig sei, da es sich um eine Debit Kreditkarte handelte. Da auch weder digitale Kreditkarten, noch Bargeld akzeptiert wurden, bot man mir eine zusätzliche Versicherung an, die das Doppelte des eigentlichen Mietpreises kosten sollte und die, schau einer an, dann doch mit einer Debit Kreditkarte bezahlt werden konnte. Den Mietwagen konnten sie sich sonstwohin stecken. Als weitere Frechheit folgte uns eine nutzlose und frech grinsende Mitarbeiterin des Avis Schalters (während wir 30 Minuten in der Schlange warteten, saß sie nichts tuend im Büro herum), um hinter einer Säule versteckt zu sehen, wie und wo wir denn nun eine Lösung für das von Avis verursachte Problem finden. Sucht euch bessere eine seriöse Autovermietung, wenn ich euren Urlaub ohne böse Überraschungen beginnen wollt.

Gefährlich und unverschämt. Ich habe mir zwei Autos ausgeborgt. Ich bin im Avis President Club und habe ich mir zumindest ein einfaches Upgrade von der Upgrade-Garantie erwartet obwohl ich ja grundsätzlich ein Doppeltes dabei hätte. Leider bekam ich statt einen Upgrade ein Downgrade und ein schnippische Antwort auf meine Beschwerde vor Ort (das ist Zadar und ich könne mich gerne beschweren - unglaublich!!!!). Ich bekam einen Renault Eclips und einen Mazda 3, wo der Reifen ein Loch hatte - das muss man vorher gewusst haben, da im Kofferraum offen ein Luftpumpengerät lag. Das ist unverantwortlich ein Auto mit einen kaputten Reifen zu verleihen. Sie wollten mir den Schaden an Reifen noch verrechnen

Nie polecam tej wypożyczalni pan wymyślił prawie 300 euro dodatkowej opłaty. Okazało się że nie mogę użyć karty debetowej ( gdzie na 4 różne karty wszystkie były debetowe ). Nigdzie indziej nie spotkałem się z czymś takim. W wypożyczalni obok wynajęliśmy auto bez problemów. Szkoda tylko że najprawdopodobniej przepadnie mi 700zl za wynajem w tej firmie. Pani na infolinii twierdzi że w umowie był zapis że karta debetowa nie zapłacę. UNIKAJCIE TEJ WYPORZYCZALNI
