About Us

Established in 2000, RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation serves as a regional platform for security dialogue in South East Europe. Over the past 20 years, our mission has been to foster peace, stability, and cooperation among member countries, enhancing their capability to navigate contemporary security challenges.

Our Mission

RACVIAC aims to promote trust and transparency among its members while addressing current and emerging security threats. By partnering with regional countries, we enhance both European and Euro-Atlantic integration within the South East European context.

Areas of Focus

RACVIAC's operational framework concentrates on four main thematic areas:

Cooperative Security Environment (CSE) Pillar: This long-standing focus includes arms control treaties, regional security implications, and physical security/stockpile management.
Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD) Network: Launched in 2015 with the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency, this project aims at developing national strategies against WMD proliferation.
Countering Transnational Security Threats (CTST) Pillar: This area addresses a wider array of security challenges, such as terrorism, organized crime, cybersecurity, and crisis management, while supporting Euro-Atlantic integration.
Security Sector Governance (SSG) Pillar: Focused on establishing effective oversight mechanisms and promoting human rights, gender perspectives, and anti-corruption efforts within the security sector.

Networking and Community Engagement

Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects, RACVIAC works to build bridges between nations, promoting mutual trust and cooperative frameworks that are crucial in addressing the security needs of the region.
