The church has been restored. Still beautiful inside, but the outside area with a lot of green is gone. Don’t follow the route of Google maps because there is an easy route from the main entrance.

A Hidden Orthodox Gem in the Heart of Belgrade As a recently baptized English Orthodox catechumen, visiting Serbia has been a profound and moving experience. This country is rich in living Orthodoxy, and places like the Church of Ružica are not rare exceptions—but beautiful reminders of how deeply faith is woven into everyday life here. Ružica Church is truly a hidden gem. Nestled within the Kalemegdan Fortress, it offers an atmosphere of peace, reverence, and beauty that’s hard to describe. We attended a Friday service dedicated to Saint Petka, held in the nearby chapel bearing her name. The service was intimate, prayerful, and deeply touching. What makes the experience even more meaningful for our family is that, when we visit Serbia, we are welcomed to partake in the Holy Mysteries. Being able to receive the Holy Eucharist in such sacred places has become the heart of our trips—transforming them from holidays into spiritual nourishment. This church is well worth a visit—not just as a historical or architectural site, but as a living place of worship. Services and Divine Liturgies are held daily, and for Orthodox Christians, receiving Communion while in Serbia is something we now see as essential. Highly recommended to anyone seeking authentic Orthodoxy and a deeper connection with Christ through His Church.

Зайшов сюди випадково, коли гуляв Калемегданом. Дуже спокійне місце — без натовпів, без шуму. Все виглядає дуже автентично. Дізнався, що будівлю ще в XIX столітті використовували як військовий склад, а церквою вона стала вже після Першої світової. Всередині є люстри, зроблені з гільз та шабель — таке не кожен день побачиш. Якщо будете в фортеці — раджу заглянути хоча б на кілька хвилин.

This Chapel is special and not to be missed. Interesting ornamental chandeliers made from bullet casings. Some other chapels very close by.

Küçük ama iç dekorasyonu ve freskleriyle güzel bir kilise girişi ise bulmak biraz zor meşhur köprüyü geçtikten hemen sonra sola dönüp küçük patika’dan sağa dönmeniz lazım

中のフレスコ画が相当歴史を感じさせます 近くにもう一つ小さな教会があり、そちらは内部がモザイク画になっているので一緒に見るのがおすすめです

Bili smo pre 15ak godina, pa sada, dosta toga se promenilo, da kažem komercijalizovalo. Ali svakako svaka svetinja odiše svojim posebnim mirom. Imali smo priliku da nam otac pročita molitvu nad moštima.
