In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, Hrvatski Telekom and Konzum have launched an ultrafast electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Zagreb. This state-of-the-art facility, located at Super Konzum on Sarajevska Street, is equipped with a 160 kW DC charger capable of recharging vehicles in just 5 to 15 minutes.
With the number of electric vehicles expected to triple by 2025, the demand for efficient charging solutions is growing rapidly. The collaboration between Konzum and Hrvatski Telekom aims to establish a robust network of EV charging stations, enhancing accessibility throughout Croatia. Following the successful installation of fast-charging stations in Delnice and Karlovac, this latest facility further solidifies their commitment to sustainable practices.
Hrvatski Telekom is recognized as the leader in e-mobility in Croatia, boasting over 250 charging points and more than 50% of all publicly available, interoperable EV charging stations in the country. The partnership with Konzum signifies a step forward in providing reliable digital EV charging services and promoting a cleaner environment.
The ultra-fast charger at Super Konzum allows for rapid power delivery, making it one of the fastest charging stations in the region. While other charging stations offer speeds of 50 kW, this new installation significantly reduces charging times, encouraging more users to adopt electric vehicles.
As a socially responsible entity, Hrvatski Telekom is dedicated to fostering a sustainable future. Jere Dumanić, Director of Business Customer Marketing at Hrvatski Telekom, emphasized the importance of this project in promoting environmentally friendly transport solutions. The new charging station not only serves local electric vehicle users but also caters to tourists visiting Croatia.
The charging stations within the network can be easily accessed through the Hrvatski Telekom application, which provides a comprehensive list of available locations. Additionally, users from abroad can take advantage of the HUBJECT and GIREVE eRoaming platforms. Payment methods include RFID cards available at T-Centers and the PlugSurfing mobile application.
To encourage the use of the new EV charging station, all users can charge their vehicles for free until June 1, 2020, making it an attractive option for both locals and visitors.
