This vineyard was one of the best tasting experiences we had in Slovenia and internationally. They are passionate, extremely friendly and helpful but also very knowledgeable and the wines are top notch quality and fairly priced. We would recommend anyone to visit them for a wonderful and unforgettable experience! If you travel with the camper they would very kindly let you stay on their property so you can fully enjoy the wine tasting. Please be supportive of their amazing kindness and make sure to bring many bottles home with you. You won’t regret it!

Wife and myself had a great time throughout the wine tasting, Damijan explained in detail about their vineyard, process in making wine and shared about Slovenian cultures as well. His wife Sabina spent a little time with us and prepared a delicious cheese & meat platter despite her busy schedule in the cellar. Both of them are very warm and passionate about wine making, would definitely recommend the wine tasting session to anyone who visits Maribor. Do budget more time as Damijan shares more time and wine than published ! We truly enjoyed our time at Horvat Vineyard.

Wine is better when it is shared. And Damien knows how to share his passion for wine. The degustation lasted 4 hours and we tasted 13 wines (10 in the dining room and 3 un the cellar). We visited the cellar. It's a small family owned winery producing 40,000 bottles per year. They almost exclusively produce white wines with a sparkling and a rosé. Highly recommended, by far the most enjoyable wine testing ever! Thank a lot Damien.

We had a great wine tasting together with Damian, who offered us a high variety of wines from their production to taste. He is a very kind and passionate host, who enjoys to tell the stories behind the wines and some funny stories around the topic and Slovenian culture. Next to the different wines, we have been given a plate with delicious cheese and snacks. It is no typical "tourist tasting", where you only get a brief introduction and 2 or 3 wines to taste. You should plan some more time for this experience and it is absolutely worth it. I can highly recommend the tasting.

Amazing experience at this winery yesterday and not like any other wine tasting I’ve experienced - Damijan and Sabina were excellent hosts and clearly passionate about wine. Got to try all the wines (think there were 11 in total), as well as a lovely platter of local cheeses. We also got a tour of the cellar. It took less than an hour to walk from the centre of Maribor. There were 6 of us in total and Damijan really brought the group together by engaging with everyone and telling some funny stories.

We've experienced a wonderful afternoon/evening, the host (Damijan) is the nicest and most enthusiastic guy you can imagine. We tasted 12(!) very tasty wines and had a lovely time at the winery. It was very lekker and gezellig!

Alweer een jaar geleden hebben we een bezoek gebracht aan de wijngaard Horvat. En ik had nog steeds een to do openstaan dat ik een recensie zou schrijven. Dus hierbij alsnog mijn 6 sterren recensie, als ik die had kunnen geven. Alles klopte. De sfeer was informeel en super gastvrij. Er werd met zoveel liefde en deskundigheid over de wijn gepraat, dat je zelf bijna ook wijnboer zou willen worden. Het enthousiasme wat zeer aanstekelijk. De wijn was meer dan voortreffelijk. Spannende wijnen mogen proeven en natuurlijk ook mee naar huis genomen. De verschillende soorten Riesling is de druif die je geproefd moet hebben. De speciale Chardonnay die ze op hout hadden gerijpt werd speciaal voor ons ter plekke gebotteld omdat deze eigenlijk niet voor de consumenten verkoop was. Hadden wij even mazzel! Prijs kwaliteit verhouding voor de proeverij was uitzonderlijk. We hadden er graag het dubbele voor betaald. Dus mocht je nog twijfelen of je deze proeverij zou boeken. Ik zeg blind doen, je zult er geen spijt van hebben, enkel alleen een auto vol wijn. Dus houdt wat ruimte in de kofferbak. Je zult het nodig hebben. Proost op een geslaagde en unieke ervaring! The owners of this vineyard are amazing. When we arrived they were actually closed and packing for their holiday. Instead they dropped everything and made time to do a quick 3 wine tasting. 3 wines eventually turned into 11 wines because the host was so passionate about their whole organisation. Best wine tasting experience we've ever had. Damian was very hospitable and welcoming. We booked a wine tasting with cheese plates in advance. We tasted about 12 wines, learned a lot about the grapes, region and wine tasting itself. We were very satisfied, cs the owners are truly passionate about their wines and process and can easily involve you in this wonderful world. Strongly recommend.

Best wine tasting I've ever done, and I usually strongly prefer reds. They are kind and warm, but I also learned so much. We had wine pairs like chardonnay that had been oaked versus stainless steel, rieslings from different years, and so on to really highlight the subtle differences. Comfortable venue, great service. Damjan is very entertaining.
