We read other positive reviews of Matkovic and decided to pay a visit. No booking was needed and we had the good fortune to be hosted by, Zeljka, who not only shared her wealth of knowledge about their wines and region but was also welcoming, friendly and personable and speaks very good English. We loved their Grk (better than examples we tasted on Korcula) and also thought their Dingac to be an excellent example. A lovely visit, highly recommended. Dog friendly, too!

We just had the most incredible experience at Matkovic Winery today! We had the privilege of spending an amazing time with one of the owners, Zeljka, who not only shared her wealth of knowledge about their wines and region but also was so very personable and a true joy to talk to and get to know. Their wines are absolutely fantastic and we highly recommend a visit any time you’re in the Peljesac Peninsula area. This winery is truly a hidden gem!

We regularly come to Croatia and we are big lovers of the wine. We found Matkovic by following some signs from a bigger winery, and we are so glad we did. The family are lovely and very happy for you to taste the wine and hear about the history of the vineyard. The L'Amore in particular is delicious, and made with a grape that nobody else in the region grows so you won't find it anywhere else. Well worth a visit.

Ustavili smo se v tej vinariji na poti do tunela Dingač in prijazna gospa Željka nam je ponudila degustacijo njihovih vin Plavac klasik in barika, Dingač, Marselan. Vina so zelo prijetnih arom in okusa, posebej Plavac mali barik in Marselan L'amour smo kupili tudi za domov.

We were delighted to discover this charming winery with surprisingly high-quality wines at excellent prices. Definitely a hidden gem worth going off the main road to visit! Even though we arrived quite late during the low season (January 2), the incredibly kind owners welcomed us with open arms. Their hospitality made the experience truly memorable.
