Vandaag waren we bij wijnproeverij Marinac in Serdnje selo op het mooie eiland Sôlta in Kroatië. We hebben drie heerlijke wijnen geproefd en hebben genoten van de heerlijke hapjes en olijfolie. We hebben echt genoten! Bedankt Anton voor je gastvrijheid en we zullen vanavond een flesje rosé opentrekken, proost!

Vi feiret vår 10års bryllupsdag her. En fantastisk opplevelse! Maten var autentisk og alt var hjemmelaget og dyrket hjemme. De ordnet med transport for oss både tur retur til huset vi bodde i på øya. Dette er en opplevelse jeg anbefaler alle som besøker Šolta.

We decided to have a day trip to Solta island and noticed that there was a local winery really close by the harbor. We were warmly welcomed eventhough we didn't book a testing in advance. Food, olive oil and wine was excellent. Also the hospitality of the family was great. I highly recommend to visit here 😊

Our visit to the Marinac Winery on Šolta, near Split, was a delight. Anton was welcoming and informative, giving us a short history of this family-run business which produces about 5,000 bottles of wine per year. The red and rosé wines are made using the Dobričić grape variety. I loved the rosé but the star of the show for me was the Pošip white - clean and flinty but with a lovely rounded finish. Bravo Anton! In addition, Anton's mother prepared delicious and beautifully presented dishes of cheeses, olives, anchovies and tuna paté - the ideal accompaniment to our wine-tasting and the perfect way to spend an afternoon!

We were warmly welcomed by the owners and had the opportunity to taste local wines and olive oil. We learnt about the winemaking process, history and what makes Šolta grapes special. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Šolta.

Meeting Anton was the highlight of our visit to Solta. He very kindly gave us a tour of the winery, told us about the history of Solta & his family’s involvement in the island’s wine making. We then took a lovely coastal walk back to Rogac.
