Worth the climb for the fabulous views. There's not much to the fort, but it's cool inside which is nice on a very hot day! Information boards and audio guide available. No toilets or other facilities at the fort. Watch young children carefully as the fort top edges isn't all fully barriered.

Tough walk up to the fort in the summer heat but nice views from the peak of the island over the bay to Dubrovnik old town. Best done before midday or early afternoon when it’s hot!

A rewarding but steep climb to Lokrum’s high point, Fort Royal offers absolutely stunning panoramic views of Dubrovnik’s Old Town and the shimmering Adriatic. The hike can be challenging over ancient stone paths, so wear good shoes. Arrive early (e.g. via the 9–10 am ferry) to beat the crowds and enjoy more tranquil exploration. Don’t miss the view just outside the fortress walls—spectacular photo opportunities

The Fort itself is interesting but not worth the hike to get there. Unless you are looking for a fantastic panorama view of Dubrovnik, if you're looking for a view like this, make your way here!
