Фонтана испред Палате Србије
Project Fontana, located in front of the Palace Serbia in Novi Beograd, represents a significant restoration endeavor aimed at returning this iconic fountain to its original state. Constructed between 1958 and 1961, the fountain holds the distinction of being the largest in the former Yugoslavia and one of the largest in Europe, making it a prominent site for welcoming state leaders throughout history.
The Palace Serbia, previously known as the Palace of Federation, opened its doors for the First Conference of Non-Aligned Countries in 1961. The impressive structure is complemented by the surrounding fountain, which has played a key role in the architectural and cultural landscape of the area. This renovation aims not only to restore the aesthetic qualities of the fountain but also to enhance its functionality while reducing energy consumption.
The project includes a range of specialized services:
| Service Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Structural Repairs | Sanitation of construction joints and creation of a concrete slab. |
| Waterproofing | Implementation of professional waterproofing systems to preserve the foundation of the fountain. |
| Surface Preparation | Reprofiling of walls and sealing of penetrations. |
| Tile Installation | Adhering a ceramic mosaic to enhance the visual appeal. |
The contractor, GP “Morava In,” closely consulted with Mapei's technical service team before commencing the restoration works. Their expertise guided the choice for reconstruction methods, particularly on waterproofing strategies, ensuring quality and durability throughout the process.
This revitalization project not only rejuvenates a historical landmark but also reinforces its status as an important public space for cultural and political gatherings. With a project completion date in 2011, the renovated Fontana continues to stand as a testament to the commitment to preserving and enhancing Serbia's heritage.
