We saw La Traviata in October. Beautiful, small theatre. We had very cheap tickets in the highest level could still see perfectly. Highly recommended for opera lovers.

SNG Opera in Balet Ljubljana - The ensemble of the Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theater of Ljubljana, performs an extensive repertoire of classical and modern operas, ballets and concert works. The theater building was constructed in 1892 to a neo-Renaissance design by the Czech architects Jan V. Hrasky and Anton Hruby. It has two niches adorned with Alojzij Gangl's allegorical statues of Tragedy and Comedy. The building's characteristic appearance is mainly due to the richly adorned front facade with Ionic columns supporting a majestic tympanum above the entrance. The allegorical sculptures in the tympanum represent Poetry and Glory. It is a very beautiful building and just in the middle in the center of Ljubljana. Right now they have a beautiful ballet Great Gatsby performance. The performances last on average for three hours, with one or two breaks. My mother always enjoys all the beautiful costumes, top singers and dancers. A wonderful orchestra.
