많은 사람들로 붐비는 라바 거리로 부터 30분 정도 해안을 따라 걸으면 조용한 주택가 언덕에 메스트로비체 미술관이 있음. 티켓 오피스 담당자 말에 의하면 본관 전시는 현재 볼수 없고 미술관 야외 마당에 있는 조각과 교회 안 목조 조각은 감상할수 있다고 함. 티켓값은 6유로(본관 전시 못보는 값을 할인해줌) 였고 먼저 미술관 정원의 좌우로 배치된 몇몇조각작품을 감상함. 미술관 마당을 올라 뒤로 돌아보면 아름다운 아드리아 눈부신 푸른 바다에 오가는 많은 배들로 한폭의 수채화를 보는듯함. 조각 작품들은 아름다웠음. 미술관을 나와 오른쪽으로 10분정도 걸으면 바다쪽으로 오래된교회 입구가 보이며 교회 마당엔 올리브 나무가 여러 그루가 자라고 있었음. 교회 본 건물안 벽면은 호두나무로 만든 부조들이 성경의 내용을 소재로 조각되어 있었으며 매우 감동적인 작품들이었다. 나무가 주는 부드러운 질감. 작가의 감정을 담아낸 선들은 개인적으로 오늘 본 작품들중 최고의 였음.

The former church is included in the price of the visit to the Mestrovic gallery along the road. As the gallery building is closed for renovation, only allowing you to visit the garden, the church actually gives a better impression of the work of the artist. In this case, it is wooden panels carved to show scenes from the life of Christ, over a lengthy period of the artist's life and work. The setting is peaceful and the view over the coast is serene. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk from Diocletian's Palace, and you can walk back along the coast, making it a lovely adjunct from the historic visit
