Fancy and modern hotel, great swevice, good restaurant, good cocktails. But: not enough place at swimming pool, you have to be there before 9am to get a bed

This hotel scored high on everything we can think of. The location, free indoor car park, indoor pool, outdoor pool, beach, breakfast, balconies, nearby restaurants, fantastic views. And even more fantastic staff who were attentive, smiling and effective. Why isn’t this a five star property? We would love to return! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Att sitta utanför kompas har blivit en mys stund på kvällen men fantastiskt musik som spelas live och goda drinkar. Vi har ej bott på hotellet.

I've already left a 5 star review for Hotel Kompas, but I then realised I'd left my favourite polo shirt on Holiday. I contacted the hotel and they had it and returned it to me hassle free. So not only a top hotel, they looked after me upon my return Thank you!

Modern hotel in Lapad overlooking Sunset Beach with a good pool. Local restaurants and bars within walking distance. Very nice breakfast buffet included.

The Hotel building is stunning , beach side view is superb, pool area is spotlessly clean and pleasant , the staff are all polite they work so hard .||The things that really let it down is the breakfast , we stayed Bed & Breakfast and it was always lukewarm food , they just can’t keep it hot which is poor for a Platinum hotel , also my husband gave up asking for a tea with his breakfast as the teapot and water was never hot always lukewarm like the food.||This really let it down big time for us, also the hotel advertises a private beach area which would be nice, but it was anything but private , it is based on concrete and shared with residents /locals and the sea access was via a ladder , no good to me i have a back disability , so we paid 30 euros to go further along where i could get in the sea easier, also on arrival the guy on reception was very offish and we was not given any real info and our rep (Tui) was no where to be seen all week .||Apart from this the hotel is in a lovely location , but the bar drinks very pricey , we never ate at the hotel at all there due to this and the cold breakfast never gave us much hope to pay for a hot meal.||If you go state you would like a high floor with sea view otherwise you will be disappointed especially if you get put round the side.

Un hotel de 4 estrellas moderno y bien ubicado. A 10 min en coche de la ciudad amurallada.|Los cuartos con vista al mar valen la pena, al igual que el desayuno.|La alberca está muy a gusto.|Los masajes del spa no son muy buenos.|La playa es pública, no hay camastros y en verano está muy llena.

This hotel is in a PERFECT location. Tons of restaurants in walking distance along the beautiful path. You could stay here for a month and not run out of options. Room was very clean with great service. This hotel really feels like you are staying at a resort with everything you need. Pool was great but need to go early for loungers. Beach was awesome with day beds provided. Beach is all rocks so it’s a little tough to go in and out of water without water shoes. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Dubrovnik with only a 10€ uber to Old town for day trips. Very satisfied with my stay overall.

We have just completed 10 days at this lovely hotel, we would highly recommend staying here, the hotel is spotless, the staff are fantastic ( big shout out to David and the pool team who worked tirelessly to make everybody’s day) the food and the rooms very good as well. Thank you

This was our first time in Croatia and we are so glad we booked to stay in hotel Kompas. Fantastic hotel in an ideal location. ||The views from the reception area on the top floor are breathtaking!||The room we stayed in was lovely, cleaned to a high standard every day. Hotel staff were always very friendly, service was great. ||Breakfast always had a good choice and very tasty food. ||Pool was beautiful and again had amazing views. ||Great cocktail selection.||This hotel really goes above and beyond - it was my birthday when we were away and after coming back from a boat trip the hotel had left me a lovely bit of cake in my room wishing me a happy birthday. ||You are a stones throw away from a good selection of bars and restaurants in Lapad and about a 10-15 minute bus ride into the old town. The area of Lapad itself really is lovely and it was nice to come back to more of a chilled vibe away from the crowds and hustle and hustle of the old town. ||Would highly recommenda|

We loved the hotel, the location, the food, the pool, housekeeping the best, pool bartenders were great, room was nice and cold. ||So relaxes, daily walks were incredible, restaurants everywhere, ocean is so clean, they clean streets daily and very clean.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff .Room dissapointing as tiny balcony .Excellent breakfast but evening meal lacked choice and 5.50 euros for a bottle of water with evening meal was very overpriced considering the same bottle was free with breakfast .

Fantastic hotel. We are here as a family of 4 in 2 standard double rooms. They are exceptionally clean and very spacious with lovely balconies. The cleaning staff are so accommodating and friendly. We are only here for 3 nights and moving on, and for that purpose I think Lapad is a great area to stay to explore Dubrovnik. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Supermarkets etc. people have commented that the hotel is expensive but it’s much the same as any other. We here as a B&B basis and I couldn’t fault the breakfast. Plenty of choice and as much as you want. Small pool area but people seem to come and go so we’ve always been able to get loungers. Pool is so lovely and refreshing in the heat. All in all fab hotel and I would definitely come back.

We found the hotel extremely expensive and not worth the money , we booked half board and the hotel guests were mostly b & b so choice limited,although there is a a la carte menu which is not really advised and after 10 days this is also limited. Pool area too small and guests turned away . Same with so called beach area which if beds used of which there are very few bad luck . The entertainment area a joke hardly any seating and even that uncomfortable, we would never return too this hotel . Only good points staff friendly and hotel clean ……..

We expected more from a Mr/Ms Smiths chain hotel. The renovations were done, but service is lacking finesse or warmth. If you are looking for responsive and pleasant experience - other options in town are better!

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kompas Hotel. The hotel itself is immaculately kept in all areas, rooms large and very comfortable and includes toiletries, slippers and dressing gowns. Went on a half board basis and so glad we did as the food was to die for. So much choice at breakfast and dinner. I'm a pescatarian and there were 2 or 3 fish to choose from. Various salads, vegetables and lots of different desserts each night. The only thing I didn't understand is that you can get free bottle of water at breakfast but they charge you 6 Euros for a large bottle at dinner. Drinks prices are similar to London but that's not only at the hotel but in all the bars. They had different bands playing in the evening but it is a more of a chilled vibe which was fine for me and my friend but don't expect any lively nights. I'm glad we chose this hotel which is in Lapad and not in the centre of Dubrovnik which is so busy. The Lapad area has everything you need and easy to get transport to different places. A bus stop is only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel and only takes about 15 minutes to the centre of Dubrovnik. The beach is just across from the hotel but is stoney and no sunbeds or parasols are available. Overall, very enjoyable holiday

I can only give this hotel a maximum rating.||The view from the reception and lobby bar are simply outstanding. This is what you see on arrival.||Staff are so friendly and genuine. A big thank you to the chap who made my omelette every morning. I really enjoyed my breakfast here, after a quick workout at a gym that by hotel standards was reasonably well appointed.||The room offers a superb view, comfy beds and an all round good place to rest.||My only minor criticism would be free water in the room would have been a nice touch and for such a superb view from the lobby a welcome drink would have capped of an otherwise great experience

Just back from a fantastic stay at the Hotel Kompas. Truly a beautiful, modern hotel in the perfect location right on the promenade with beach views. Made perfect by the wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious with everything you can think of, toiletries ( smell amazing), gown and slippers, spacious storage and tea coffee making facilities, topped off with a chocolate by your bed each evening. The hotel is spotless and housekeeping really look after the rooms. Breakfast was a vast selection of hot and cold foods and drinks. Dinner (we went half board) was a selection of traditional foods, different each day. We didn’t struggle even with one fussy eater. The staff were so welcoming and friendly- we would like to say a special thanks to Nada for looking after us on our first night - after a delayed flight we thought we had missed out but she couldn’t have been more helpful. Also Zeland and Daniel for being so friendly and looking after us. |The pool area can get busy but whatever time there was always a bed, and after a hot day exploring it was lovely to have a swim with a view. The pool bar do a fantastic selection of cocktails, drinks and food . |Going into Dubrovnik Old Town was a 20 min walk to catch no6 bus at the end of the promenade.
