The rooms feel unsafe, win directlydows can not be locked and the door lock is from the outside a cheap padlock and inside a small chain. While we were received they wanted photos of our identity cards, witch is unique. The surrounding place is ugly/sketchy/abandoned. That being sed, if you walk across the tram rails (when you leave the balkan express tot he right and then on your left,) you can take route 6 directly to the city in 6 minutes

Positiv: Die Frauendusche war sauber. Man kommt der Bahn gut zum Hostel und ein Lidl ist sehr nah. Es gibt eiene Klimaanlage. Negativ: Es gibt keine Rezeption, also auch keinen Ansprechpartner vorort. Die Kommunikation per WhatsApp lief gut, es wurde immer schnell geantwortet, außer als das Wasser nicht Funktioniert. Das Zimmerfenster lässt sich schwierig öffnen und schließen, vorallem jedoch leider nicht verriegeln, heißt potentiell von außen öffnen. Die Zimmer sind mit einem Vorhängeschloss verriegelt, von innen lassen sie sich nicht richtig verschließen, zumindest kann man die Schiebetür noch 5 bis 10cm öffnen. Das Männerbad hat sehr gestunken und war nicht besonders sauber. Das Zimmer war einigermaßen sauber, jedoch ist das gesamte Hostel etwas in die jahre gekommen und mancher Schmutz lässt sich nicht mehr einfach wegputzen. Das Hostel ist wie auf den Bildern zu sehen ein alter umgebauter Zug. Das Gelände um das Hostel ist allerdings nicht einladend. Das Wasser ging die ersten paar Stunden nicht, am Abend lief es jedoch wieder. Das Licht in unserem Zimmer funktionierte ebenfalls nicht

Pour commencer notre avis, nous tenons tout d’abord à souligner la gentillesse et le professionnalisme de l’hôtesse d’accueil. Cependant concernant notre séjour, plusieurs facteurs sont complètements ahurissants. Pour commence il est impossible d’allez aux toilettes en fermant la porte à clef, vous êtes prêts à ce que à tout moment quelqu’un entre dans les toilettes. Toujours concernant cet espace l’endroit où prendre la douche sent très fort l’urine, assez repoussant, inutile de préciser l’impossibilité de fermer la porte à clef. Passons maintenant aux chambres, nous avons trouvé sous notre lit un sac poubelle rempli, le sol et les fauteuil de la chambre était taché, nous ne captions pas le wi-fi depuis notre chambre, les lits étaient trop cours et nous ne pouvions être simplement droit. L’absence de rideaux occultant reste l’un des principales fardeaux que vous allez endurer, des 6h30 il fait jour comme si vous dormiez dehors. Je rajouterais à ça la finesse des murs, vous entendez chacun des pas qui est fait dans le couloir et si par mégarde un ronfleur dort dans la chambre à côté de vous, vous l’entendrez ronfler comme si il était à côté de vous.

I stayed for 2 nights in the end of June. The rooms are small but cosy, with good air conditioning. The train is definitely old, the light was actually coming off from the ceiling a bit, but not much of an issue for me. Beds clean. The doors are locked with a combination lock on the outside, which i didn’t really love🤷♀️. From the inside there is a chain lock. The bathrooms are small and uncomfortable, despite some of it having been newly installed. But The shower is fixed at barely hip-height, very awkward to have a comfortable shower as you have to hold it to wash your hair. Location quite far out from the city. Overall it was a nice stay, but I wouldn’t like longer than 1-2 nights.

Great location. The food from the restaurant is delicious. The price is reasonable. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned, and two-bedroom rooms. Clean, fresh linen and new mattresses. And a quiet place near the city centre with a terrace. Excellent service. Friendly professional staff. I love the idea of this train hostel. It is a real, original train, and every detail is authentic. On the train is a nice restaurant-bistro. The train hostel has 4 toilets and 2 bathrooms, both men's and women's, and it is usually booked through the Booking.com app. Across this property will be an additional 30-room hostel soon. Great experience!

Also, man konnte sein Zimmer nicht richtig sichern, da nur ein Schloss mit Nummer vorhanden war das immer das gleiche ist, dann wurde einem Kollegen das Telefon und die EC-Karte gestohlen, als wir es Polizei meldeten, kam der Besiter und wurde laut und sehr aggressiv. Sehr zwielichtiger Laden, besser wo anders hingehen, Betten wurd nicht frisch bezogen und gemacht, Handwerker blockierten den Eingang des Hostels.usw an sich gute Idee mit dem Zug aber der Rest wirklich nicht zzu empfehlen

Do not go there. The reviews can be confusing as the average is of 4 stars. It is because there is also a restaurant so the reviews are mixed. All reviews about the hostel are 1-2 stars. The hostel is not safe; it is located in a vacant lot next to the road and the front door doesn't close and the doors of the room do not close either. When we arrived we didn't meet anyone (no reception or anything) and we're the only ones staying at the hostel. Was very cheap so we stayed 2 nights out of the 3 we had booked there before finally deciding to go to another hostel for our last night as we couldn't sleep because of how creepy everything was. I normally don't comment on anything but this one was actually awful.

Un cauchemar – à fuir Les photos de l’annonce sont mensongères : le train se trouve sur un terrain vague à côté de voitures abandonnées, la terrasse sur les photos n’existe pas et les chambres sont dans un état lamentable. L’état général est déplorable : tout est sale, la salle de bain semble n’être jamais nettoyée, les draps du lit n’avaient pas été changés (encore remplis de cheveux). L’odeur dans les chambres est insupportable, un mélange de tabac froid et de crasse. Pour la sécurité, c’est encore pire : la porte principale reste ouverte en permanence, la chambre n’a pas de serrure et la salle de bain ne ferme pas non plus. On ne se sent absolument pas en sécurité. J’ai dû réserver un autre hôtel en urgence, sans possibilité de remboursement. Cet endroit est une vraie arnaque. À éviter à tout prix !

We stayed at Balkan Express two weeks ago. Unfortunately, our experience was affected by the unwelcoming attitude of a staff member at the restaurant, who seemed to display discriminatory behavior toward Asians. This made us feel uncomfortable and out of place in the area. Additionally, we felt unsafe at night, as the main entrance door did not have a lock and there was no staff presence or security at the entrance. On a positive note, the prices were reasonable and could be suitable for travelers on a tight budget.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hostel was disappointing. The only positive aspect was the friendly staff member at the reception, who did his best to be helpful. However, this was completely overshadowed by the rude and unwelcoming attitude of the manager. He seemed uninterested in the guests and responded curtly and dismissively to any questions or concerns. Additionally, the WiFi was absolutely terrible. Connecting was a challenge, and even when it worked, it was so slow and unreliable that it was practically useless. The cleanliness was also lacking—bathrooms were not properly cleaned and had an unpleasant smell. Overall, I would not recommend this hostel. With a better manager and improved facilities, it might be a decent place, but as it stands, it is not worth the money.

Ambijent i lokacija su dobri sama ideja vagona je jako simpaticna,medutim usluga i kvaliteta hrane su nas razočarali. Odlucili smo se za valentino za njihovu ponudu menija koja se sastojala od dva menija, takva je bila objava na instagramu,kada smo došli ponuđen nam je samo jedan meni drugi uopće nije spomenut tako da umjesto tuna steaka bio nam je ponuden samo zagrebacki kao glavno jelo ,također uz svaki slijed je trebalo ići vino što nije ispoštovana.Mislim da sama cijena od 80 eura nije odgovrala omjeru kvalitete hrane i usluge
