On the 16th of April I made a reservation for a car in Palma de Mallorca. Upon arrival on 30th of April at approximately 00:30 a.m. to collect my vehicle with my friends, we were informed by an Alamo employee that no cars are available. Keep in mind I received a confirmation on my booking and even filled out all the information required for accelerated check-in. The Alamo employee offered us to either take a taxi or rent a car from a different company. Taking a taxi was not an option since we already had pre-booked plans around the island.
At the time, the employee explicitly assured us that Alamo would cover any additional cost incurred due to this inconvenience. Acting in reliance on this assurance, we rented a car from a different company at a significantly higher price. The unplanned expense, coupled with the disruption and loss of approximately four hours from our itinerary, has resulted in both financial loss and considerable inconvenience. To emphasize the severity of the situation, this was happening in the middle of the night which made everything including finding a new car to rent much more difficult.
Later that day (30th of April), I wrote a formal complaint and a request for a reimbursement to customerservicepalma@em.com. After speaking with of your employees via email, I finally received an email stating that my refund request has been approved. It was also stated that the corresponding amount which is: 448,94 EUR (new rental) – 115,71 EUR (original reservation with Alamo) = 333,22 EUR. I have also sent the invoice for our new rental to ensure transparency on our side. I received this email on 19th of May. Since then, I have not yet received the money, nor have I received any response from Alamo. I have written several more emails to check if there may be any issues on their side.
On the 9th of July I even tried to contact Alamo via Facebook since email was clearly not an option anymore. After explaining the situation once more I received an email on the next day (10th of July) stating that my request has been forwarded to the branch.
Since then, I have not heard anything from Alamo. Overall, I have been waiting for the reimbursement for over 2 months now despite it being APPROVED on the 19th of May. My patience is now at its limit.
This has been the most horrible and awful experience with any car rental company. I strongly recommend everyone to NOT even consider Alamo as an option to rent a car. The worst part is we were not the only ones. There were at least 6 or more groups of people there who also had no car waiting for them despite making a reservation or even paying for the rental.

Everything perfect! This is the second time I rent with Alamo and I will definitely come back again to them. The car was virtually new, the price was very fair and picking up as well as returning the car was extremely easy and fast. The counter is within the airport and the cars parked right outside, so no need for any shuttle bus hassle. Great service and price!!

Best rental car I've had. Upgraded model for free. A few scratches on bodywork but these were all noted on initial collection report. No queue at desk, quick collection and drop off of vehicle. Very friendly service. I would definitely use them again.

The car (VW Golf) was clean and served us perfectly throughout our trip in Istria.
At pickup, we were clearly informed about the different insurance options (cost, deductible, risks, etc.) without any pressure to buy.

Very happy with my rental car - I got a brand new car (it was only a month old!), which was amazing. Staff was super friendly and helpful, when I arrived I did not have to wait at all: they knew my name and my car was waiting for me in the parking lot. Returning the car went smooth as well. Great experience, would definitely rent again here.
