If you are learning Croatian as a foreigner in Croatia then this is the best place to do it. Croaticum is part of the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, meaning that it comes witha little more professional expertise than a simple language school or learning over the internet. Yes, it is a little old school (e.g. the classrooms) and, in some places, bureaucratic, but the learning experience is the real deal, especially when you yourself are motivated. Classes have people from all over the world who are learning for all manner of different reasons (e.g. ancestors, university studies, diplomatic postings, marriage, etc.) which creates an exciting dynamic - sometimes even challenging our way of looking at the world. I met people at Croaticum who are still wonderful friends today. Besides the classroom aspect, there tend to also be opportunities for outside speakers, visits to cultural places in Zagreb and informal socialising as ways to further boost language learning.

For those looking to learn Croatian intensively on a budget, Croaticum is the best school in Zagreb. I attended group lessons with Ms. Marinela Alesovski. She was professional, dedicated, and I thoroughly enjoyed every lesson in her group!

I am extremely impressed!
